The left side of the planner screen contains 3 areas. The first is an action area where the user selects the action to perform: New If the New option is checked, then the user selects a task to render on the planner. This is done by selecting a task from the Tasks list and clicking down on the planner at the desired starting position. A pin  will appear marking the location of the starting position. The user then drags the pointer to the ending position and releases the mouse button and a task is rendered on the planner.  Some of the tasks have predefined lengths and will render automatically when you click down on the mouse. Modify If the Change Length option is checked, the user selects an end of the task  to pin down by clicking down one end of the task and dragging the pointer to the point that marks the unpinned boundary of the task. Both ends can be pinned. ,  . Copy The user selects a task to copy. Click down on a task and a pin will appear on the left end of the task . Drag the pointer to the desired starting location of the new task and release the mouse button. A copy of the task will be rendered and the position of the pointer will be the starting position of the copied task.. Move The user selects a task to copy. Click down on a task and a pin will appear on the left end of the task . Drag the pointer to the desired starting location of the selected task and release the mouse button. The selected task will be rendered and the position of the pointer will be the starting position of the moved task. The Tasks list displays all the tasks that can be applied to the plan. It operates like a treeview with expanding and collapsing branches. The color and pattern of the selected bar will be the color a pattern of the bar that is created on the plan. The Plans list displays all plans open in the plan area. Make a plan current by selecting it on this list. You can delete a plan by selecting the Delete drop down menu option. |
